Hmmm….my guess is some kind of shrew? Not a meerkat; too small (I think)
If not a shrew then the oval shape makes me think scorpion?
based on the size, I would think some kind of snake or lizard.

Chipmunk? Do you even have chipmunks down there? If not, I’m going with whatever small rodent is a South African chipmunk-equivalent.
Hi Tamar – we dont have wild chipmunks in Africa – I guess the closest thing would be a squirrel?
