I watched these critters almost devour a complete tree the other day. When they landed on one of my cycads I photographed them and then sent them on their way in a very un-eco-friendly manner. Sorry but you can’t eat my cycads! I was glad to see the back of them.

Can you see how the middle locust is scratching his head?
Beautiful
They look as though they have been hand painted.
We have them on our farm too – horrible, horrible creatures. They completely desecrate my lemon trees…
I have an eco-friendly mixture detailed here: http://ecofootprintsa.blogspot.com/2011/04/where-were-all-easter-bunnies-then.html They drop like stones – within 10 seconds!!!!
I love these photographs!
Eww, they freak me out
I don’t blame you. But these are stunning photos of the little devils.
Hugs,
Kathy
Beautiful creatures!
Stunning pics Horrible creatures!!!!
I went through a plague a few years ago, the only things they didn’t touch were the tomato bushes…. mine weren’t colourful like yours – hope you don’t get too many more!

Stunning photo. Did you have to get really upclose & personal to get this shot? Glad you took a picture to at least immortalise them
