The Simple Life

To poke a wood fire is more solid enjoyment than almost anything else in the world.

Today we had some unusually cold weather. For us, unusually cold weather means that you have to wear a jersey the whole day.  It was overcast and gloomy for the most part with the sun sneaking out every now and then.  I think we have had two days like this so far this winter.

We decided to make the most of it and the Beans boyfriend made a huge bonfire in our fire pit and we ate a late lunch early dinner of fresh homemade bread and chunky vegetable soup around the bonfire while the sun went down.

Awesome.

  1. Many many summer evenings are spent around a fire during the summer months. Canada has such temperature extremes, however, almost always it cools off and we gather around a fire. I have so many fond memories of family wiener roasts, burnt marshmallows, beer and gossip enjoyed around the fire. Loved this post! Simple – just like sitting around a bonfire, roasting your front, then the bottom and just simply getting lost in the magic of the flames.

    Thanks for this one!
